Hammer drill bit Bosch SDS Plus-5, 6.5 mm, for rotary hammer and drilling
Bosch Hammer drill bit SDS Plus-5, 6.5 mm is a single-purpose drill bit designed for use with SDS Plus rotary hammers. Intended for hammer drilling and standard drilling tasks in masonry and concrete, this 6.5 mm bit fits SDS Plus chucks and offers a reliable option when a precise 6.5 mm diameter hole is required. Supplied as one piece, the bit has a total length suitable for common installation and fixing tasks in building materials.
The SDS Plus-5 geometry provides efficient hammer energy transfer for effective penetration in brick, concrete and similar materials. Its 6.5 mm diameter ensures consistent hole sizes for anchors and fixings, while the overall length allows for typical installation depths. Compatibility with SDS Plus rotary hammers enables quick tool-to-bit engagement and straightforward replacement when wear occurs.
Select the SDS Plus-5 6.5 mm drill bit and insert it into the SDS Plus chuck of a compatible rotary hammer until it locks. Mark the drilling point, secure the workpiece if needed, and set the rotary hammer to hammer-drill mode. Start drilling with light pressure to establish the hole, then apply steady force while maintaining tool alignment. Withdraw the bit occasionally to clear dust and debris and to prevent overheating. Replace the bit once wear degrades drilling performance.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves and hearing protection. For reinforced concrete, use lower feed pressure and allow the tool to work; for clean holes use compressed air or a brush to remove dust before inserting anchors. Store the bit in a dry place to avoid corrosion and check the shank for deformation before each use.
