Twist Drill Bits Bosch HSS Cobalt 2608585905 5 Piece Set
Twist Drill Bits Bosch HSS Cobalt 2608585905 — a set of five precision-ground HSS cobalt twist drills designed for high-performance metalworking. Each bit contains 5% cobalt alloy and is made to DIN 338, providing improved wear resistance and heat protection for drilling alloyed and non-alloyed steel, stainless steel, cast iron, cast steel and acid- and heat-resistant steels. The bits feature a cylindrical shank (shank diameter equals drill diameter), two cutters and two flutes for efficient chip removal, a split-point tip with a 135° angle for accurate centring and reduced wandering, and diameter tolerance h8.
The cobalt alloy (5%) combined with fully ground high-speed steel increases tool life and maintains surface quality under high temperatures. Two cutters and two flutes ensure rapid chip evacuation to reduce clogging and wear. The 135° split-point tip provides active cutting and precise centring without wandering, while the cylindrical shank makes the bits suitable for use in drill stands and hand-held drill drivers. Manufactured to DIN 338 for consistent dimensions and performance.
Select the appropriate drill bit size from the set for the required hole diameter. Secure the workpiece and, when possible, use a drill stand for increased accuracy. Fit the cylindrical shank into the chuck of a drill driver or drill press and tighten securely. For best results on stainless and heat-resistant steels, use moderate feed and cutting speeds suited to HSS-cobalt drills, apply cutting lubricant when necessary, and clear chips regularly to avoid overheating and premature wear.
Use cutting fluid when drilling stainless or heat-resistant steels, maintain steady feed without excessive pressure, and periodically withdraw the bit to clear chips. Store the bits dry and protected to prevent corrosion and preserve tip sharpness.
