Twist Drill Bits Bosch 2608585927 HSS Ground 1.5-10mm
Bosch HSS Twist Drill Bits (2608585927) are precision-ground high-speed steel bits designed for accurate metal drilling. The 135° self-centring split-point tip reduces wandering and removes the need for pre-punching or pilot holes up to 10 mm, while the precision grinding provides faster drilling and lower feed pressure compared with standard chisel-edge HSS drills. These bits are produced to DIN 338 and have a cylindrical shank matching the drill diameter, making them suitable for use in drill stands and handheld drill drivers.
Precision-ground HSS construction offers up to 40% faster drilling and up to 50% lower feed pressure versus standard-ground HSS bits with chisel edges. The 135° split-point geometry ensures accurate centring and reduces wandering, eliminating the need for initial punching or pilot drilling for holes up to 10 mm. Manufactured to DIN 338 standards with a cylindrical shank, these bits provide consistent concentricity and reliable fit in drill chucks and stands.
Select the correct drill diameter for the required hole and secure the bit in the drill chuck or drill stand so the cylindrical shank seats concentrically. For metal drilling, clamp the workpiece firmly and use cutting fluid where appropriate to improve chip evacuation and tool life. Start drilling at a moderate speed, applying steady feed pressure; the 135° split-point tip will help centre the bit and reduce walking. For holes up to 10 mm, pre-punching or pilot drilling is generally unnecessary.
Use appropriate cutting lubricants when drilling ferrous metals to extend bit life, select speeds suitable for the workpiece material and bit diameter, and ensure secure clamping of the workpiece. Replace worn bits to maintain hole quality and prevent damage to the tool or material.
