Drill Bits Bosch SDS plus-9 RebarCutter
The Bosch SDS plus-9 RebarCutter drill bit is designed for cutting through rebar embedded in reinforced concrete. With a 300 mm length and firmly fixed carbide teeth, the bit combines high wear resistance with effective cutting performance. Its steep 2+2 flute geometry supports efficient dust and chip evacuation, while an integrated ventilation hole reduces heat buildup during use. The bit is intended for use in rotary hammers with SDS plus holders and must be used without impact; cutting through rebar should only be performed with approval from a structural engineer.
The fixed carbide teeth and the unique tooth shape increase cutting speed and extend tool life. The steep 2+2 flute design improves dust and metal chip removal and reduces vibration for better power transfer and consistent drilling speed. An internal ventilation hole helps dissipate heat and allows metal chips to escape, lowering the risk of overheating during prolonged use.
Fit the Bosch SDS plus-9 RebarCutter into a rotary hammer with an SDS plus holder and ensure it is securely locked. Operate the tool in rotary mode without impact to cut through rebar and concrete. Maintain steady pressure and allow the carbide teeth to do the cutting; avoid forcing the bit to prevent overheating or premature wear. Clear chips periodically and allow the bit to cool if it becomes hot.
Only cut through rebar when a qualified structural engineer has approved the work. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (eye, ear and hand protection) and follow the rotary hammer manufacturer's safety instructions. Inspect the bit before use and replace if carbide teeth show significant wear or damage.
