Twist Drill Bit Bosch 2608596335 8 mm
The Bosch Twist Drill Bit 2608596335 8 mm is an 8 mm high-speed steel (HSS) installation and formwork drill bit designed for precision drilling in a wide range of building materials. Manufactured to DIN 7490 with a 118° chisel-edge tip, this bit features an extra-long cylindrical shank and a screw-connected drill bit and shank end for enhanced robustness and smoother running. The tapered flute and offset ends reduce the risk of jamming in moist wood and enable drilling through embedded nails and mixed sandwich materials.
This Bosch installation bit combines durable HSS construction with a screw-connected bit and shank end to reduce breakage and improve concentric running. The tapered flute geometry and offset ends prevent clogging in damp timber while maintaining cutting power against nails and metal layers. An extra-long shank provides versatile reach for multilayer or sandwich materials, and the 13 mm-compatible cylindrical shank fits drills with a 13 mm chuck for straightforward mounting.
This 8 mm HSS installation bit is intended primarily for wood, light building materials and sandwich constructions that include metal layers. It is not optimized for heavy-duty continuous masonry drilling in concrete with high aggregate content or for specialized tile and ceramic drilling where carbide-tipped masonry or diamond bits are recommended.
Secure the drill bit in a drill with a 13 mm chuck, ensuring the shank is fully seated and tightened. Select an appropriate speed for HSS and the material being drilled — moderate to high speed for wood and light building materials, lower speed for drilling through metal layers or embedded nails. Apply steady axial pressure without forcing; allow the bit to clear chips periodically to avoid overheating. For through-holes in sandwich materials use a controlled feed to maintain alignment and prevent delamination.
Use moderate speeds for wood and light materials and reduced speed for metal-containing sandwich panels. Periodically withdraw the bit to clear chips and reduce heat build-up. When encountering nails or metal layers, steady pressure and controlled feed minimize bit deflection and prolong life.
