Wire connector METZ CONNECT 130B23-E

The METZ CONNECT 130B23-E wire connector is a modular Cat.6A RJ45 termination unit in a Keystone 90° cable-feed format. It has a solid, one-piece reusable housing refined by zinc die-casting and is designed for installation without special tools. The unit supports both solid (AWG 26/1 to 22/1) and stranded (AWG 26/7 to 22/7) conductors using insulation displacement connectors (IDC) and is certified for Cat.6A performance up to class EA.

Advantages

The connector offers tool-free mounting with a strain relief that snaps directly onto the stuffer cap and includes intelligent cable management in the stuffer cap to accommodate heavily twisted cables. Conductor assignment for T568A and T568B is printed on the stuffer cap. The component is tested and certified by GHMT and complies with relevant standards for Cat.6A performance, supporting 10 GBit Ethernet, Remote Powering (PoE, PoE+ and UPoE) and HDBaseT.

How to use

Prepare the Cat6/6e/6A cable by stripping the outer sheath to expose the twisted pairs. Untwist pairs only as much as required for insertion and follow the conductor assignment printed on the stuffer cap for T568A or T568B. Insert individual conductors into the IDC slots and press the stuffer cap to terminate the conductors; the strain relief snaps onto the stuffer cap for secure fastening. After termination, seat the Keystone module into the appropriate patch panel, faceplate or socket opening at a 90° orientation for cable feed.

Usage recommendations

For reliable performance, use within specified wire gauges (AWG 26–22), follow the printed T568A/T568B assignments, and avoid excessive untwisting of pairs. Ensure the connector is used in installations complying with Cat.6A channel/link requirements and verify terminations with appropriate testing equipment.
