Circular polarizing filter b&w international B+W BASIC CPL MRC 52mm – CPL, multi-resistant coating, 52 mm thread
The B+W BASIC CPL MRC 52mm circular polarizing filter by b&w international is designed to reduce reflections from non-metallic surfaces and to increase color saturation in outdoor and landscape photography. With a 52 mm front thread it mounts to compatible lenses to control reflections on water and glass, deepen blue skies, and enhance foliage tones. The MRC multi-resistant coating improves light transmission while reducing internal reflections and resistance to dirt and scratches.
The circular polarizer cuts glare and unwanted reflections without changing exposure significantly, allowing clearer detail in highlights and midtones. The multi-resistant coating helps minimize flare and ghosting, and provides easier cleaning and greater surface durability. The 52 mm thread size fits a wide range of standard lenses, making the filter a practical option for landscape, travel and outdoor shooting.
Screw the filter onto the lens front thread until secure, then rotate the outer ring while observing through the viewfinder or on the live view screen to adjust the degree of polarization. Stop rotating when reflections are minimized or when the desired sky contrast and color saturation are achieved. Check exposure and white balance after fitting the filter; in some situations a small exposure adjustment may be necessary. Remove the filter when polarization effects are not required or when stacking with other filters could cause vignetting on wide-angle lenses.
Best results are obtained when the light source is at a 90-degree angle to the camera-lens axis. Avoid using the polarizer with extreme wide-angle lenses at their widest apertures if vignetting or uneven polarization appears. Clean the filter with a soft microfiber cloth and use gentle lens cleaning fluid if needed to preserve the MRC coating.
