Ultraviolet (UV) camera filter B+W 007 MASTER 112 mm, Multi Resistant Coating (MRC)
B+W 007 MASTER 112 mm is an ultraviolet (UV) camera filter designed to reduce atmospheric haze and block UV light entering the lens. Finished with Multi Resistant Coating (MRC) on both surfaces, the filter improves light transmission and simplifies cleaning while providing a clear optical path for landscape, travel and outdoor portrait photography. The filter is supplied as a single 112 mm screw-in unit that mounts to lenses with a matching 112 mm front thread and also serves as a basic protective element for the front lens element.
The Multi Resistant Coating (MRC) reduces reflections on the glass surfaces and increases durability against smudges and light abrasion, helping maintain image contrast and colour fidelity. Its precision-mounted optical glass and slim, robust frame ensure reliable alignment and minimize vignetting on wide-angle lenses. As a neutral UV filter, it does not affect exposure or colours while providing physical protection for the lens front element during field use.
Screw the filter gently onto the lens front thread until it is secure; avoid overtightening. Use the filter in outdoor or high-UV situations to reduce atmospheric haze and protect the lens glass. Clean the coated surfaces with a soft microfiber cloth and appropriate lens cleaner; the MRC finish facilitates removal of fingerprints and light dust. When storing or transporting, keep the filter in its protective case to prevent scratches.
For optimal results, use the B+W 007 MASTER 112 mm on lenses with a matching 112 mm thread and check for vignetting on very wide-angle lenses. Regularly clean the MRC-coated surfaces with lens-safe materials and attach a lens cap when the filter is not in use to extend service life.
