Camera lens circular polarising filter Calumet CALSACPL58, 58 mm, 1 pc
Calumet CALSACPL58 is a 58 mm circular polarising filter designed to reduce reflections, increase color saturation and improve contrast for outdoor and studio photography. Constructed with Japanese AGC optical glass and a slim aircraft-aluminium frame, the filter provides high light transmission while adding protection to the front element of compatible lenses. The rotating polariser element allows controlled suppression of non-metallic glare from water, glass and foliage and deepens blue skies for landscape images. Supplied as a single black, transparent unit with a protective storage box, the filter supports screw-mount lenses with a 58 mm thread and features a slim profile for minimal vignetting on wide-angle lenses.
The Calumet CPL SMC Ultra Slim 28 filter uses multilayer coatings on both sides to reduce unwanted reflections and maintain image clarity. With 28 coating layers, including hydrophobic, oleophobic, scratch-resistant and anti-reflective treatments, the glass repels water and grease, is easier to clean and resists scratches during regular use. The combination of Japanese AGC glass with over 99% light transmission and a 6H hardness rating preserves image quality while providing mechanical durability. Its ultra-slim 5.3 mm aircraft-grade aluminium frame with serrated tabs ensures easy handling and installation, and the double-thread design allows stacking of additional accessories when required.
Screw the Calumet CALSACPL58 onto the front thread of a lens with a 58 mm diameter until it is secure but not overtightened. Rotate the outer ring to adjust polarization while observing the viewfinder or live view to find the desired reduction in reflections and increase in color saturation. For best results with landscapes, aim the camera roughly 90 degrees from the sun when rotating the filter. Use the serrated tabs when installing or removing the filter to improve grip. If stacking filters or accessories, thread the second item onto the filter’s front threads and check for vignetting when using wide-angle lenses.
Clean the filter with a soft microfiber cloth and, if necessary, a few drops of lens cleaner; avoid abrasive materials that could damage the coatings. When shooting in very low light, remove the polariser if exposure or light loss becomes problematic. Store the filter in the supplied protective box when not in use to protect the coatings and frame from impacts and dust.
