Camera lens circular polarising filter Calumet CALSACPL62 — 63 mm
Calumet CALSACPL62 is a circular polarising filter with a 63 mm thread diameter designed to reduce reflections, control glare and improve contrast in outdoor and landscape photography. Constructed with Japanese AGC glass and a multilayer coating system, the filter delivers high light transmission and helps enhance sky saturation, deepen colors and reveal details obscured by surface reflections. The slim aircraft-grade aluminium frame with serrated tabs facilitates attachment and rotation while minimizing vignetting on wide-angle lenses. The filter is supplied as a single unit in a black/transparent finish and includes a protective box for storage and transport.
The Calumet CPL features 28 multilayer coatings (14 on each side) that combine hydrophobic, oleophobic, scratch-resistant and anti-reflective treatments to reduce unwanted reflections, repel water and grease, and simplify cleaning. Japanese AGC optical glass with over 99% light transmission and 6H hardness preserves image quality while improving contrast and color saturation. The ultra-slim 5.3 mm aircraft-aluminium frame reduces the risk of vignetting and the serrated adjustment ring and tabs provide secure handling and easier mounting and removal.
Screw the filter onto a lens with a matching 63 mm thread (check the lens barrel or cap for the Φ marking). Rotate the front ring to adjust the degree of polarization while observing the viewfinder or live view until reflections are reduced and desired contrast is achieved. The serrated ring and small tabs make it easier to grip and turn the filter; take care when mounting and dismounting to avoid cross-threading. The double-thread design allows additional filters or accessories to be attached on top if needed.
Use the polarising filter at non-extreme wide-angle focal lengths to avoid uneven polarization across the frame. For maximum effect, shoot at a 90-degree angle to the sun. Clean the filter with a soft microfiber cloth and, when necessary, use a mild optical cleaning solution to remove stubborn marks; the hydrophobic and oleophobic coatings will help minimize persistent residues. Store the filter in its protective case when not in use to protect the coatings and frame.
