Camera Lens Filter CAMDIOX Gray Fader 49mm neutral density variable
Camera Lens Filter CAMDIOX Gray Fader 49mm neutral density variable
CAMDIOX Gray Fader 49mm is a variable neutral density (ND) filter designed for lenses with a 49 mm front thread. The filter provides adjustable light attenuation that lets photographers and videographers control exposure and depth of field without changing aperture or shutter speed. By rotating the front element you can smoothly vary the density to reduce light, enable longer shutter speeds for motion blur, or prevent overexposure in bright conditions while keeping desired lens settings.
The variable neutral density design replaces multiple fixed ND filters, saving space in a camera bag and enabling fast on-lens adjustments. Optical glass elements deliver consistent attenuation across the frame with minimal color cast when properly aligned. The 49 mm threading is compatible with a wide range of compact and mirrorless lenses. The filter helps maintain image quality when long exposures or shallow depth of field are required in bright environments, and it simplifies exposure control for video to avoid flicker or abrupt changes.
Attach the CAMDIOX Gray Fader 49mm to the front of a lens with a matching 49 mm thread. Compose your shot and set the desired aperture and shutter speed for depth of field and motion rendering. Rotate the filter’s outer ring to increase or decrease the neutral density effect until the exposure meter or histogram indicates the correct exposure, or until you achieve the desired motion blur or background separation. For video, adjust the filter to maintain a consistent exposure while keeping shutter speed and aperture fixed for a specific cinematic look.
Align and rotate the filter gently to avoid cross-polarization effects and to minimize vignetting on wide-angle lenses. When using near the extremes of density, check for color shift and fine-tune white balance in-camera or during post-processing. Keep the filter clean and store it in a protective case to prevent scratches and preserve optical performance.
