How to use

Screw the appropriate 77 mm HOYA HD Mk II IRND filter onto your lens until it is secure. Use the IRND8 when you need to reduce exposure slightly to achieve a shallow depth of field in bright light. Use the IRND64 to lower exposure sufficiently for motion blur of flowing water or moving people while avoiding very small apertures that cause diffraction. Use the IRND1000 for very long daytime exposures, to remove people from busy scenes with long exposures, or for creative “otherworldly” landscape effects. Filters can be stacked using the front thread to combine densities when needed; take care to check for vignetting when stacking on wide-angle lenses.

Usage recommendations

For precise exposure control when using IRND filters, compose and meter the scene without the filter first, note the required exposure, then attach the filter and adjust shutter speed accordingly.
