Telephoto lens Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III — for EOS, 75–300mm, f/4–5.6, 58mm filter, 122mm length
The Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III is a compact telephoto zoom lens designed for EOS SLR cameras. Its lightweight construction and 75–300mm focal range make it suitable for travel and everyday use, allowing photographers to capture distant subjects and portraits. The lens incorporates an integrated AF micro motor for autofocus operation and an electromagnetic aperture diaphragm for precise aperture positioning.
This telephoto zoom offers a long focal reach in a small, portable package and a black finish that matches Canon EOS bodies. It provides a useful 75–300mm range for compressing perspective and isolating subjects, a 58 mm filter thread for common filter use, and a maximum magnification of 0.25x for closer framing. The lens construction includes 13 elements in 9 groups to balance image rendering across the zoom range.
Attach the lens to a compatible Canon EOS body by aligning the mount marks and rotating until it locks. Use the zoom ring to set the desired focal length between 75 and 300 mm; adjust focus manually if needed or allow the camera AF to focus using the lens's integrated micro motor. Set the aperture from the camera body; the electromagnetic diaphragm will position the aperture accurately during exposure. Fit 58 mm filters if required and store the lens with caps when not in use.
For best results, use faster shutter speeds or image stabilization-equipped camera bodies when shooting at longer focal lengths to reduce camera shake. Keep a moderate distance from subjects when using longer focal lengths to maintain image quality, and clean the front element and filters regularly to avoid reduced contrast.
