Graphing Calculator Casio ClassPad fx-CP400
The Casio ClassPad fx-CP400 is a graphing calculator with a large high-resolution 4.8-inch color touch-panel LCD that displays mathematical formulas, graphs and images simultaneously. The device lets users switch between vertical and horizontal orientations with one touch, supports a dual-window display to view formulas and graphs at the same time, and includes a stylus-operated touch panel for direct manipulation of expressions and graphs.
The fx-CP400 offers a high-resolution color display that is 4.4 times sharper than previous ClassPad models, real-time color linking between spreadsheet and chart data, and a rotation function that increases the visible graph area. It has a three-level software keyboard covering basic to advanced mathematical functions, a push-latch stylus storage, ergonomically slanted hard keys to reduce input errors, USB mass-storage for easy data transfer, direct projector connection support, and up to 100 hours of operation from standard dry-cell batteries.
Operate the fx-CP400 by tapping icons or using the stylus on the touch-panel to enter and edit formulas, then drag and drop expressions into the graph area to plot them. Switch between vertical and horizontal displays with the orientation icon on the control panel to view long formulas on a single line or enlarge the graph area. Use the software keyboard levels to select basic or advanced functions, and connect the device to a computer via USB for file transfer or to a Casio-compatible projector for classroom display.
For classroom demonstrations, enable Dual-Window Display to show the equation and its graph simultaneously. When working with experimental sensor data, connect the data logger and transfer readings via USB to analyze them using the graph functions. Keep spare dry-cell or rechargeable batteries available to ensure continuous operation.
