Network card Chelsio T6225-CR — Internal Fiber, PCI Express, 25 Gbps, IEEE 802.1Q/802.3 standards
Chelsio T6225-CR is an internal dual-port fiber network card with a PCI Express host connection designed to deliver low-latency 25 Gbps Ethernet connectivity for servers and high-throughput workstations. The adapter supports 1/10/25Gb operation and a PCI Express 3.0 x8 host interface, implementing industry networking standards for VLAN tagging, flow control and link aggregation. It provides integrated offload capabilities for storage and cloud workloads and maintains compatibility with prior host software to simplify deployment and preserve existing software investments.
The T6225-CR offers sub-microsecond end-to-end latency while offloading many networking, storage and security tasks from the host CPU, reducing processor load and lowering power and operational costs. Built-in protocol offloads include standard TCP/IP/UDP-based services as well as integrated crypto offload for IPsec, TLS/SSL, DTLS and SMB 3.x. The card supports standards-based link aggregation, inter-adapter failover and a Traffic Manager for flexible QoS and flow control, enabling resilient, high-availability deployments over existing switch infrastructure.
Install the Chelsio T6225-CR into an available PCI Express x8 (or higher) slot on a compatible server or workstation and connect fiber links to the card's optical ports using appropriate SFP28 or compatible transceivers and fiber cabling. Ensure the host system BIOS and operating system recognize PCI Express devices, then install Chelsio drivers and management software provided by the vendor or through validated OS packages. Configure network interfaces, VLANs, link aggregation or failover groups and enable offload features as required by your storage, virtualization or application stack.
Use validated fiber transceivers and single-mode/multimode fiber consistent with your network design, keep firmware and drivers up to date to benefit from performance and security fixes, and plan redundant link aggregation or inter-adapter failover for critical services. For storage deployments, enable the appropriate iSCSI or FCoE offloads and verify end-to-end checksums and CRC settings to ensure data integrity.
