Glass Pour-Over Coffee Maker CHEMEX Classic CM-8A — Glass, Height 231.8 mm
Glass Pour-Over Coffee Maker CHEMEX Classic CM-8A — Glass, Height 231.8 mm
CHEMEX Classic CM-8A is a glass pour-over coffee maker designed for manual brewing. Crafted from transparent, non-porous borosilicate glass with a height of 231.8 mm, this carafe offers a heat-resistant vessel for preparing filtered coffee. The design supports precise control over extraction and is compatible with Chemex paper filters; the glass body does not absorb odors or chemical residues and can be covered and refrigerated for later reheating without altering coffee flavour.
The simple, timeless design ensures ease of use and straightforward cleaning while maintaining consistent thermal and chemical stability during brewing. Borosilicate glass construction provides resistance to thermal shock and prevents flavor transfer. The open-top pour-over format gives the user direct control over water flow and extraction time for reproducible results.
Place a compatible Chemex paper filter in the top of the carafe and rinse it with hot water to remove paper taste and preheat the glass. Add the desired amount of freshly ground coffee to the filter, pour hot water evenly to saturate the grounds, allow bloom, then continue pouring in a controlled, circular motion until the target volume is reached. Once brewing is complete, remove the filter and serve directly from the glass carafe or cover and refrigerate for later reheating.
Use freshly roasted, evenly ground coffee and water heated to typical pour-over temperatures (around 90–96°C). Avoid sudden extreme temperature changes to prolong glass life. For consistent results, follow a measured brew ratio and pour technique; rinse filters and preheat the carafe before brewing to improve flavour clarity.
