Continental Grand Prix 5000 28" Road Tyre Folding Bead 330 TPI
The Continental Grand Prix 5000 28" Road Tyre Folding Bead 330 TPI is a high-performance road tyre for 28" wheels. Designed for riders who want a balance of speed, comfort and puncture protection, this tyre combines a lightweight 250 g construction with a 330 TPI carcass and a folding bead. The recommended inflation pressure range is 95–115 psi and the ISO size is 28-622 (width 2.8 cm).
Featuring Continental's BlackChili Compound produced in Germany, the tyre delivers a measurable combination of low rolling resistance and strong grip. Regular test wins reflect improvements established both in laboratory testing and on the road. The compound uses advanced polymers and specially developed carbon black particles and fillers to increase performance. Integrated Active Comfort Technology within the tyre construction reduces vibrations for a smoother ride while maintaining enhanced puncture protection.
Mount the tyre on a compatible 28" (622) rim using standard tyre mounting procedures for folding bead tyres. Check tyre alignment and seating before inflating. Inflate to a pressure within the recommended range (95–115 psi), adjusting based on rider weight and road conditions to achieve the desired balance of comfort and rolling efficiency. Inspect the tyre for cuts or embedded debris before each ride and follow manufacturer guidance for tyre fitting and removal to avoid damaging the bead or rim.
For best performance, combine with a properly matched inner tube or tubeless-ready setup if applicable, maintain recommended pressures, and periodically inspect the tread and sidewalls. Choose slightly lower pressure within the range for increased comfort on rough roads, or higher pressure for reduced rolling resistance in races.
