Switch D-Link DGS-105 Unmanaged L2 Gigabit Ethernet Black
Switch D-Link DGS-105 Unmanaged L2 Gigabit Ethernet Black
The D-Link DGS-105 Unmanaged L2 Gigabit Ethernet switch is a compact 5‑port switch that supports 10/100/1000 Mbps with full‑duplex operation and a 10 Gbit/s switching capacity. Designed for small offices and home offices (SOHO) and small-to-medium businesses (SMB), it provides plug-and-play connectivity for computers, wireless access points, IP cameras, printers and other Ethernet devices. Its metal housing, visible port LEDs and fanless operation make it suitable for quiet environments while ensuring reliable physical protection and heat dissipation.
The switch offers five auto‑sensing Gigabit Ethernet ports, non‑blocking architecture for simultaneous full‑speed traffic on all ports, and QoS support via 802.1p for traffic prioritisation. It includes cable diagnostics to quickly identify faulty cables and incorporates D-Link Green technologies (including 802.3az EEE and cable‑length power adjustment) to reduce power consumption and extend product lifespan. The unit is unmanaged for straightforward plug‑and‑play deployment and comes in a durable metal case with mounting options and a Kensington lock slot.
Place the DGS-105 on a flat surface or mount it on a wall using the supplied kit, or secure it with a Kensington lock in the dedicated slot. Connect each Ethernet device to the RJ‑45 ports using standard network cables; the ports auto‑sense the appropriate speed and duplex. Power the unit and observe the port LEDs to verify link status and speed. If connectivity issues arise, use the cable diagnostics LED indications at startup to identify faulty cables.
For optimal energy savings and performance, connect devices using appropriately short cable runs where possible and allow the switch to operate in a well‑ventilated area despite its fanless design. Use QoS‑capable endpoints (that mark 802.1p priority) when prioritising voice or video traffic.
