Modem router D-Link 5G M2M VPN PoE+ DWM-311-GP/E, 5G, 1x RJ45 PoE (802.3at), external antenna, DC 48–57V, black
The D-Link DWM-311-GP/E is an industrial 5G M2M VPN PoE+ modem router that provides cellular 5G connectivity and a single RJ45 Ethernet PoE (802.3at) port. Designed for machine-to-machine and IoT applications, it supports external antennas and a wide DC input range (48–57 V) for flexible power options. The device includes a built-in VPN client for secure remote access and a compact, rugged enclosure suitable for space-constrained or harsh environments.
The modem integrates 5G data connectivity with Power over Ethernet (802.3af/at) in a single unit, delivering both power and network connection over one cable and reducing installation complexity. It supports dual-SIM plug-and-play WAN operation with automatic failover, a 2.5 Gbps-capable Ethernet port for high throughput, and industrial-grade construction with corrosion-resistant zinc-plated steel and wide operating temperature range for reliable outdoor or industrial use. Built-in features such as PD-Alive, PoE scheduling and an integrated VPN client enhance uptime, security, and power efficiency.
The DWM-311-GP/E provides one PoE-enabled Ethernet port, so installations requiring multiple PoE ports will need additional switches or injectors. It is intended for M2M/IoT and network edge use rather than as a full-featured home router with many LAN ports or advanced consumer Wi‑Fi features.
Install the DWM-311-GP/E by mounting it on a wall or DIN rail, connect the external antenna(s), insert SIM card(s), and apply DC power within the specified 48–57 V range. Connect your PoE device to the RJ45 port to provide both data and power. The modem supports plug-and-play operation with a web-based interface for configuration and monitoring; the built-in VPN client can be configured for secure remote access and the device can be managed for PoE scheduling and PD-Alive settings to maintain uptime.
For reliable 5G M2M performance, mount the modem where the external antenna has clear line-of-sight to the cellular signal, use a secondary SIM for automatic failover, and configure PoE scheduling and PD-Alive to reduce downtime and power consumption.
