Hex Key with Ball End 8.0 mm, Dedra CRV, Long (model 06F081)
Long hex key (Allen key) with a ball end, 8.0 mm size, manufactured by Dedra from chrome-vanadium (CRV) steel. The long shaft provides extended reach for recessed or hard-to-reach hex fasteners while the ball end enables engagement at an angle, allowing access to screws when direct line alignment is not possible. This tool is intended for assembly, maintenance and repair tasks on machinery, bicycles, furniture and equipment that use 8 mm hex fasteners.
The Dedra long hex key is made from chrome-vanadium steel for enhanced strength and wear resistance. Its extended length improves reach into deep or recessed fasteners, and the ball end permits limited angular entry for faster alignment and reduced need for repositioning. The solid one-piece construction ensures torque transfer and reliable engagement with 8 mm hex sockets.
Insert the 8 mm end of the hex key into the hex socket of the fastener. For direct access, align the tool straight into the socket and apply steady turning force. For angled access, engage the ball end and enter the socket at a slight angle (within the allowable angle for the ball end) to turn the fastener. Use controlled force to avoid rounding the fastener head; when higher torque is required, use the long shaft as a lever while maintaining proper seating in the socket.
Inspect the hex key and the fastener before use. Keep the tool clean and free of debris to ensure proper seating. Avoid excessive force that may damage the fastener or tool; if a fastener is corroded or rounded, consider using appropriate penetrating lubricant or a specialized extractor. Store the hex key in a dry place to minimise corrosion and retain tool accuracy.
