Hole saw Dedra 24 mm TCT 1/2" for metal and wood
Dedra 24 mm TCT hole saw with 1/2" hex shank is a cutting accessory designed for making clean round holes in metal and wood. The tungsten carbide-tipped (TCT) teeth increase wear resistance and maintain cutting performance when used with drills and impact drivers that accept a 1/2" arbor. This hole saw is intended for creating holes for pipework, cable entry, fittings and other installation tasks that require a precise 24 mm aperture.
The TCT teeth deliver extended life and steady cutting speed on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as timber. The 1/2" hex shank provides quick and secure engagement with standard drill chucks and adaptors, reducing slippage during use. The compact 24 mm diameter allows for precise holes with minimal material removal, and the hardened construction helps maintain tooth geometry under repeated use.
Select a drill or impact driver that accepts a 1/2" hex shank and fit the hole saw securely. Mark the centre of the required 24 mm hole and, if possible, clamp the workpiece to prevent movement. Start drilling at low speed to establish the cut, then increase speed steadily while applying consistent pressure. Withdraw occasionally to clear swarf and prevent overheating when cutting metal; when cutting wood, ensure chips are removed to maintain a clean cut. After completing the hole, inspect the cut edge and deburr if necessary.
Use cutting lubricant or coolant when cutting ferrous metals to extend tool life and reduce heat. Avoid excessive lateral force and do not exceed recommended speeds for the material being cut. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and gloves, and secure the workpiece before drilling.
