Hole Saw Dedra 48 mm TCT, 5/8'' arbor, model 08X048
Dedra 48 mm TCT hole saw with 5/8" arbor (model 08X048) is a circular cutter designed to produce precise round openings in a variety of materials. The tungsten carbide tipped (TCT) teeth provide durable cutting performance for wood, soft metals and composite panels. The tool is compatible with standard 5/8" arbors and is intended for use with drills for tasks such as door hardware installation, routing cables and pipes, and general carpentry hole cutting.
The tungsten carbide tipped cutting edge maintains sharpness longer than standard bimetal blades, enabling consistent, clean cuts and extended service life. The 48 mm cutting diameter offers a commonly used size for fittings and fixtures, while the 5/8" arbor compatibility ensures quick mounting on standard drill chucks and arbor adapters. The construction provides good stability during drilling and reduces the risk of burrs when used at appropriate speeds for the material.
Secure the 5/8" arbor into the drill chuck or compatible arbor adapter and tighten firmly. Mark the center of the required hole on the workpiece and, if available, use a pilot bit or guide to maintain position. Start drilling at low to moderate speed to establish the cut, then increase speed as appropriate for the material while applying steady, even pressure. For metals and laminates, use cutting fluid or coolant where appropriate and avoid excessive feed force to prevent tooth damage. After cutting, retract the hole saw and clear cut material from the cup before continuing additional cuts.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye protection and gloves. Match drill speed and feed rate to the material: lower speeds for metals and higher speeds for softer woods. Keep the teeth clean of built-up material and inspect the cutter before use; replace if teeth are chipped or worn to maintain cutting quality and safety.
