Hole Saw Dedra TCT 51 mm (5/8") universal, model 08X051
Hole Saw Dedra TCT 51 mm (5/8") universal, model 08X051
Universal TCT hole saw Dedra 51 mm (5/8") model 08X051 is a circular cutting tool designed for creating 51 mm diameter holes in materials suitable for tungsten carbide tipped (TCT) teeth. The saw is intended for use with compatible arbors and drills and is applicable in construction, plumbing, electrical installations and general workshop tasks where a clean, precise round bore is required.
The TCT teeth provide increased wear resistance and longer service life compared with plain HSS teeth when cutting abrasive or hard materials. The 51 mm cutting diameter matches standard fitting and conduit sizes, enabling consistent, repeatable holes. The universal design ensures compatibility with common power drills and arbors, and the tooth geometry is optimized for a balance of cutting speed and chip evacuation.
Secure the TCT hole saw to a compatible arbor and fasten the arbor in the drill chuck according to the drill manufacturer's instructions. Mark the center point of the required 51 mm hole and, if available, use a pilot bit or centering guide to stabilize the saw at startup. Operate the drill at a speed appropriate for the material being cut, applying steady, moderate pressure and allowing the TCT teeth to cut without forcing. Periodically withdraw the saw to clear chips and reduce heat buildup. After cutting, remove burrs and check the hole for fit and finish.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (safety glasses, gloves and hearing protection). For harder or abrasive materials, reduce speed and consider using cooling or intermittent cutting to extend tool life. Ensure the arbor and drill are rated for the hole saw size and that the workpiece is properly secured before cutting.
