Hole saw Dedra TCT 89 mm (5/8") universal
Universal Dedra TCT hole saw, 89 mm (5/8"). Designed for cutting accurate circular openings in a range of materials, this hole saw features tungsten carbide tipped (TCT) teeth for improved wear resistance and longer cutting life compared with plain-tooth cutters. It is intended for use with drills that accept a 5/8" arbor and is suitable for general contractor, installer and DIY tasks that require clean 89 mm holes.
The TCT teeth deliver enhanced hardness and durability when cutting through wood, plywood, laminates and compatible non-ferrous metals. The 89 mm diameter produces a standard-sized opening for many installation tasks, and the universal design fits drills with a 5/8" arbor for quick mounting. The material and tooth geometry promote consistent cutting performance and reduced edge wear, helping to maintain hole quality over multiple cuts.
Secure the hole saw on a compatible 5/8" arbor and ensure the arbor is tightened to prevent wobble. Mark the center point of the desired hole and, if possible, use a pilot bit or center punch to guide the saw. Operate the drill at an appropriate speed for the material: lower speeds for metals and higher speeds for softwoods and laminates. Apply steady, even pressure and allow the tool to cut without forcing; clear chips periodically to maintain cut quality. After finishing, remove the cut-out core and inspect the teeth for wear before subsequent use.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and gloves. For cutting metals, select correct cutting speed and apply cutting lubricant. Avoid excessive axial force to prolong the life of the TCT teeth and preserve hole accuracy.
