Hole Saw Dedra TCT 140 mm 5/8" arbor (08X140) — TCT universal hole cutter
Dedra TCT 140 mm hole saw with 5/8" arbor is a universal tungsten carbide-tipped (TCT) hole cutter for forming circular openings up to 140 mm in diameter. Designed for use with hand drills and drill presses, this hole saw is intended for cutting through wood, plywood and certain non-ferrous materials where TCT teeth are suitable. The cutter’s construction provides a combination of cutting speed and edge durability for typical plumbing, electrical installation, carpentry and general trade tasks.
The tungsten carbide-tipped teeth deliver prolonged cutting life compared with standard steel teeth and maintain sharpness when cutting abrasive wood-based panels. The 140 mm diameter allows for standard large-diameter penetrations while the 5/8" arbor suits common drill chucks and drill-press arbors. The solid body and TCT teeth provide consistent performance when cutting through thicker sections of wood or layered plywood.
Fit the 5/8" arbor securely into the drill chuck or drill press arbor and ensure the pilot bit is correctly installed and tightened. Mark the center point of the intended hole and clamp the workpiece to prevent movement. Start drilling at low speed to establish the pilot hole, then increase speed moderately while maintaining steady pressure—let the TCT teeth do the cutting without forcing the tool. Withdraw the cutter periodically to clear chips and avoid overheating; for thicker or laminated materials, remove debris frequently to maintain cutting efficiency.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment including safety glasses and hearing protection. For best results, secure the workpiece and use controlled speeds appropriate for wood and plywood; avoid using the TCT hole saw on hardened steel or highly abrasive masonry materials. Regularly inspect the teeth for wear and replace the hole saw when cutting performance deteriorates.
