Aluminium rivets Dedra 4.8 x 12.5 mm, 50 pcs are solid blind rivets designed for creating permanent mechanical joints in thin metal sheets, plastics and other lightweight materials. Manufactured from aluminium, these rivets offer a balance of low weight and corrosion resistance suitable for indoor and some outdoor applications. Supplied in a pack of 50, they are intended for use with compatible hand or pneumatic rivet tools and are commonly used in metalworking, repair tasks, DIY projects and light construction where a flush or semi-flush finish is acceptable.
These aluminium blind rivets provide a reliable permanent fastening method without the need for access to both sides of the joined materials. Their aluminium construction reduces the risk of galvanic corrosion with similar materials and keeps the fastened assembly lightweight. The rivet body and mandrel design enable consistent setting with standard rivet tools, producing uniform joints and repeatable mechanical performance across multiple fastenings.
Drill a hole matching the rivet diameter through the materials to be joined, align the parts and insert the rivet body from the accessible side. Place the rivet mandrel into the compatible rivet tool and squeeze or actuate the tool until the mandrel snaps and the rivet forms a secure head on the blind side. Remove used mandrel remnants and inspect the joint for correct deformation and clamping. Use a rivet tool rated for 4.8 mm aluminium rivets and follow the tool manufacturer’s safety and operating instructions.
For optimal results, select a rivet length that accommodates the combined thickness of the materials with enough allowance for proper mandrel pulling. Pre-drill holes with the correct diameter and deburr sheet edges to ensure consistent seating. When joining dissimilar metals, consider surface treatments or isolation to reduce the potential for galvanic reaction. Store rivets in a dry place and handle with appropriate eye protection during installation.
