The Dedra DES010 welding shield is a passive face protector designed to provide basic eye and face coverage during manual welding operations. It features a replaceable rectangular viewing filter with an active viewing area of 50×100 mm mounted within a full shield measuring 200×270 mm. The construction offers a simple, lightweight barrier against sparks, spatter and direct view of the welding arc while allowing clear forward visibility through the filter.
The shield’s compact viewing window and larger outer panel deliver a balance between visibility and protection without powered components or complex adjustment mechanisms. The replaceable filter design makes it easy to maintain optical clarity over time, and the rigid shield construction helps deflect splatter and debris away from the face. Its passive design means no batteries or electronic parts are required, simplifying use and upkeep.
Position the shield so the viewing filter aligns with your line of sight and hold or mount it according to your workshop setup. Ensure the filter is correctly seated in its frame and replace it when scratches, clouding or damage reduce visibility. Use the shield in conjunction with appropriate welding gloves, clothing and respiratory protection as required by the task and local safety regulations. Inspect the shield before each use to confirm there are no cracks or deformations that could compromise protection.
Use this passive welding shield for short or occasional welding operations where a simple face and eye barrier is sufficient. For high-amperage welding, prolonged exposure to arc light, or jobs that require variable shade levels, choose a helmet with an appropriate shade filter or an auto-darkening solution to meet optical and safety requirements.
