Interface Card Deltaco USB3-SATA6G2
The Deltaco USB3-SATA6G2 is an interface adapter that connects 2.5" SATA drives to a computer using a USB Type-A port. Based on the JMS567 chipset, it supports SATA III throughput up to 6 Gbit/s and offers backward compatibility with USB 2.0. No separate power supply is required, and the adapter supports 2.5" HDDs and SSDs up to 2 TB capacity, making it suitable for quick data access, cloning, backup and temporary expansion of storage over a USB 3.0 connection.
The adapter provides high-speed transfers through SATA III support and USB 3.0 connectivity while remaining simple to use without extra power adapters. Its JMS567 chipset ensures stable communication between the SATA drive and host system, and backward compatibility with USB 2.0 increases device compatibility. The compact design allows for portable use with laptops and desktop systems.
This adapter is designed specifically for 2.5" SATA drives and does not provide support for 3.5" desktop drives that require a separate power supply. It also does not convert other interface types (mSATA, M.2 NVMe) to USB; those devices require dedicated adapters or enclosures. Performance is limited by the host USB interface—using a USB 2.0 port will reduce transfer speeds compared with USB 3.0.
Connect the 2.5" SATA drive to the adapter’s SATA connector and plug the USB Type-A plug into a USB 3.0 port on your computer. The operating system should recognise the drive as an external storage device; if necessary, install or update drivers according to your OS. For drive cloning or backups, use your preferred disk utility software. Always use the system’s safe removal procedure before disconnecting to avoid data loss.
For optimal performance, connect the adapter to a USB 3.0 Type-A port on a host with available bandwidth; ensure the SATA drive is securely seated in the connector and avoid disconnecting during active file transfers. Use disk utilities for initial format or cloning tasks and safely eject the device after use.
