Devil Design PETG filament 2.85 mm on a 1 kg spool in black is a thermoplastic filament formulated for FDM 3D printers that accept 2.85 mm (commonly labeled 3 mm) filament. The material combines higher impact and chemical resistance than PLA with good layer adhesion and moderate flexibility, making it suitable for printing functional prototypes, mechanical parts and durable end-use components. The filament is supplied on a standard spool for straightforward mounting on spool holders and is compatible with typical PETG printing workflows when used with appropriate printer settings and bed-adhesion measures.
This PETG filament offers balanced mechanical properties — improved toughness and chemical resistance compared with PLA while maintaining reliable layer bonding and lower shrinkage than ABS. The 2.85 mm diameter provides stable feeding on printers designed for thicker filament, and the 1 kg spool size supports extended print runs. The black color gives consistent, opaque results suitable for visible parts and finishes.
Load the spool onto a suitable holder and feed the filament into the printer according to the manufacturer's instructions for 2.85 mm filament. Configure printer settings for PETG: typical nozzle temperatures range between 230–250 °C depending on the printer and model geometry, and bed temperatures around 60–80 °C improve first-layer adhesion. Use a moderate print speed and enable retraction settings appropriate for thicker filament to reduce stringing. Ensure the nozzle and extruder are clean before printing and store the filament in a dry environment when not in use.
For best results, level the build plate and apply a suitable adhesion aid (PEI sheet, glue stick or PET tape) if required. Adjust cooling fan settings to low or off for the first few layers, then use gentle cooling to balance surface finish and layer bonding. Keep filament sealed with desiccant between uses to prevent moisture uptake that can cause bubbling and print defects.
