Description

The Devolo GigaGate is a high-speed WiFi bridge designed to transmit a gigabit-class internet signal from a main router to a secondary location in the home. With wireless transmission capacity up to 2 Gbps and dual-band operation (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), the Starter Kit includes a Base unit that connects to the router and a Satellite that provides local wired and wireless connections for multimedia devices.

Advantages

GigaGate creates a dedicated high-throughput wireless link between Base and Satellite using 5 GHz beamforming and delivers up to 2 Gbps transmission speed. The Satellite offers a gigabit LAN port plus four Fast Ethernet multimedia ports and supplies 2.4 GHz WiFi up to 300 Mbps for mobile devices. Communications between components are encrypted with WPA2 (AES 128-bit). The system supports expansion with up to eight Satellites per Base and ships with a three-year manufacturer warranty.

How to use

Connect the GigaGate Base to your router using the supplied network cable and position the Satellite in the room where you need high-speed access. The Base and Satellite automatically form a 5 GHz link with beamforming; no complex configuration is required for basic operation. Place the Base where it has a stable wired connection to the router and set the Satellite in the area requiring best performance (e.g., living room).
