Reciprocating saw DeWALT DCS389T2-QW, brushless, 3000 spm, 30 cm wood / 13 cm steel, 2×6 Ah battery
The DeWALT DCS389T2-QW cordless reciprocating saw is a brushless, battery-powered tool designed for demanding cutting tasks on site. With a maximum stroke rate of 3000 strokes per minute and cutting depths up to 300 mm in wood and 130 mm in steel, this saw delivers high cutting performance while remaining portable. Dual 6 Ah lithium‑ion batteries provide extended runtime for long shifts, and the compact footprint (455 × 175 mm) combined with a 3.54 kg weight supports comfortable handling during demolition, plumbing, carpentry and general utility work.
The brushless motor improves efficiency and reduces maintenance compared with brushed alternatives, while the high maximum stroke rate enables faster material removal. Dual 6 Ah batteries extend continuous operation and reduce downtime for battery changes. The tool’s compact dimensions and balanced weight make it easier to manoeuvre in confined spaces and maintain control during vertical or overhead cutting. Overall design focuses on durability and on-site usability without compromising cutting capacity.
Install a compatible reciprocating blade according to the blade manufacturer’s instructions and ensure it is securely locked in the tool’s blade clamp. Fit the charged 6 Ah batteries in place before starting work. Select an appropriate stroke rate for the material and begin cutting with steady forward pressure; allow the blade to do the cutting rather than forcing it. For deep or long cuts, proceed in controlled passes and check blade condition frequently. After use, switch off the tool, remove the batteries and store them separately in a cool, dry place.
Use blades rated for the specific material to optimise cutting speed and lifespan, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection, hearing protection and gloves. When cutting metal or pipes, secure the workpiece to prevent movement. Allow batteries to cool before charging after extended heavy use, and follow the battery manufacturer’s guidelines for charging and storage to preserve capacity.
