Drill bit DeWalt DT4926-QZ, 750 mm length, for metal, pack of 10
DeWalt DT4926-QZ 750 mm metal drill bit, supplied in a pack of 10, is designed for extended reach drilling in metalworking applications. The long-length twist bit is suitable for creating through-holes and deep-drilled features in components and structures made from high-alloy steels and other metals. Its no-walk tip improves initial positioning and penetration on workpieces 5 mm and thicker, and recessed cutting wings help produce cleaner, more accurate holes with reduced burr formation.
The extended 750 mm length enables drilling in deep or hard-to-reach areas without the need for extensions. The no-walk tip minimises slipping at the start of a hole for improved accuracy. Recessed cutting wings reduce burrs and produce a cleaner hole finish, lowering the need for secondary deburring. Supplied as a pack of 10, the set is convenient for repetitive or on-site machining tasks where several identical bits are required.
Secure the bit firmly in a compatible drill chuck or rig rated for long-length bits, ensuring correct centring and clamping to prevent run-out. Mark the drilling position and start at low speed to allow the no-walk tip to locate the surface, then increase speed and apply steady feed appropriate to the metal type and thickness. Use suitable cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling high-alloy steels to reduce heat and prolong bit life. Withdraw the bit periodically on deep holes to clear chips and avoid clogging.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment and ensure the drill and workpiece are properly secured. Select drilling speed and feed rate according to the workpiece material and follow standard metalworking practices for coolant use and chip evacuation to maximise tool life and hole quality.
