Drill Bit DeWalt DT6671 4 x 85 mm, carbide-tipped masonry drill
Drill Bit DeWalt DT6671 4 x 85 mm, carbide-tipped masonry drill
DeWalt DT6671 4 x 85 mm carbide-tipped masonry drill is designed for drilling small-diameter holes in brick, block and concrete. The 4 mm diameter and 85 mm working length make it suitable for common fixing tasks such as installing anchors, screws and dowels. The carbide tip and flute geometry provide efficient material removal and improved wear resistance when used with hammer drills and rotary hammers.
The carbide tip maintains cutting performance and extends tool life compared with standard steel bits. Optimised flute design evacuates dust and debris efficiently to reduce clogging and keep drilling speed consistent. The 85 mm length ensures sufficient penetration for most anchor and dowel installations while the 4 mm diameter enables precise, small-diameter holes. Compatibility with hammer drilling modes allows use in masonry and concrete with impact action for faster progress.
Mark the drilling position and secure the workpiece or confirm stable surface contact. Fit the drill bit into the hammer drill or rotary hammer chuck and tighten according to the tool manufacturer’s instructions. Start drilling at low speed to establish the hole, then apply steady pressure and engage the hammer action for masonry. Retract periodically to clear dust from the hole and prevent bit binding. After reaching the required depth, withdraw the bit while the tool is running briefly to expel remaining debris.
Use personal protective equipment including eye protection, dust mask and hearing protection when drilling masonry. Select appropriate drill speed and moderate pressure; excessive force or high speed can reduce bit life. For cleaner holes and longer bit life, clear dust frequently and avoid overheating by allowing short pauses during continuous drilling.
