Chisel for Ceramics DeWalt DT6806 SDS-plus 200 x 400 mm with Handle
DeWalt DT6806 SDS-plus chisel for ceramics is a specialist accessory for SDS-plus rotary hammers, dimensioned 200 x 400 mm and supplied with an integrated handle to improve user control. Designed for cutting, chipping and removing ceramic tiles, grout and similar brittle materials, the chisel body and tip geometry are optimised to work with rotary hammer impacts while the handle reduces vibration transmission and enhances guiding accuracy.
The chisel features robust heat-treated steel and a ground working edge to resist wear when used on ceramic and tiled surfaces. SDS-plus compatibility ensures fast, secure mounting and reliable force transfer from the hammer. The supplied handle improves handling ergonomics, offering better precision when controlling depth and direction of material removal, and provides a safer grip when working on vertical or overhead surfaces.
Insert the chisel into an SDS-plus rotary hammer and secure according to the hammer manufacturer’s instructions. Position the tip at the intended starting point on the ceramic surface and apply controlled strokes, allowing the hammer’s impact mechanism to drive the chisel; avoid forcing the tool to reduce tip wear. Use the handle to stabilise the tool and guide the chisel angle for precise removal. Periodically inspect the tip for wear and replace the chisel if the cutting edge becomes rounded or damaged.
For efficient and safe operation, use appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection, gloves and hearing protection. Match the hammer’s impact energy and mode settings to the task and avoid using the chisel on hardened steel or reinforced concrete. Store the chisel in a dry place and keep the tip protected to maintain cutting performance.
