Description

The PLANET IPOE-162 is a single-port mid-span industrial Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) injector that supplies up to 30 W over Ethernet cables. It is intended for higher-power network equipment such as PTZ network and speed-dome cameras, color touch-screen VoIP phones, multi-channel wireless LAN access points and other devices that require increased power for stable operation. The injector supports IEEE 802.3at and is backward compatible with IEEE 802.3af devices.

Advantages

The IPOE-162 delivers 56 V DC up to 30 W over Cat5/5e/6 cables, allowing simultaneous transmission of power and data between the injector and a powered device or PoE splitter, with a maximum cable distance of 100 meters. It also provides up to 15.4 W when used with IEEE 802.3af PDs. The unit accepts a wide DC input range (12–48 V) and uses an internal boost to 56 V, avoiding the need for special power supplies and enabling dual or backup power arrangements. How to use

Connect a DC power source (12–48 V) to the IPOE-162 input, then link the injector's Ethernet RJ45 port to the powered device or to a PoE splitter using Cat5/5e/6 cable. Ensure the cable run does not exceed 100 meters between the injector and the powered device. The injector will boost the input voltage to provide 56 V DC to PoE+ devices while carrying data and power over the same cable. For IEEE 802.3af devices, the injector will provide compatible power levels automatically.
