Magnifying Glasses Discovery DGL 50 — Discovery head-worn magnifier, model DGL 50

Discovery DGL 50 magnifying glasses are a head-worn magnifier designed to provide hands-free magnification for close-up work. The adjustable frame positions the lens assembly in front of the eyes to support reading small print, precision hobby tasks, model making and inspection tasks at a desktop or workbench. The optical element offers a fixed magnification suited for short-range viewing and can be used with or without additional task lighting.

Advantages

The head-mounted design keeps both hands free while maintaining a stable field of view. An adjustable frame allows the user to set lens distance and angle for improved focal comfort during extended use. The unit is lightweight for desktop or hobby use and is compatible with common eyeglass shapes when worn over prescription spectacles. Materials used are chosen for basic durability in routine indoor work environments.

Suitable for

• Reading small print in books, manuals or labels
• Precision crafts such as beadwork, model assembly and miniature painting
• Electronics inspection, soldering and component placement
• Quality control and visual inspection of small parts

Key specifications

• Head-worn magnifier format with adjustable frame
• Single optical lens assembly providing fixed short-range magnification
• Lightweight construction for extended desktop use
• Adjustable lens angle and distance for personalized focal position
• Intended for indoor, close-up tasks and hobby applications

How to use

Place the Discovery DGL 50 on the head and position the frame so the lens sits comfortably a short distance from the eyes. Adjust the angle and distance of the lens until the viewed object is in clear focus. For best results, use with a stable work surface and adequate ambient or task lighting. If you normally wear prescription glasses, fit the magnifier over them and fine-tune the lens position to achieve the clearest view. Clean the lens with a soft, lint-free cloth to maintain optical clarity.

Usage recommendations

Use the magnifier primarily for short-duration close work and hobby tasks. Avoid exposure to strong impacts or excessive force on the frame. Store the unit in a protective case or on a flat surface to prevent lens scratches and maintain alignment. If vision needs are beyond the magnifier’s capability, consult an eye-care professional for appropriate optical solutions.
