The TFA‑Dostmann 14.1512.01 food thermometer ensures meat and poultry are cooked to the desired doneness by simultaneously monitoring core temperature and oven/grill temperature. The set includes a high‑quality stainless steel penetration probe with an extra‑thin tip and a heat‑resistant cable that can remain in the oven or on the grill during the entire cooking process. The instrument displays measured values on a bright digital screen and signals with an audible alert when the programmed core temperature is reached or when the oven temperature moves outside the set limits.
Simultaneous monitoring of core and oven temperatures with programmable upper and lower limits offers precise control for roasting and grilling. The extra‑thin probe tip enables fast, minimally invasive measurement while the roughened handle and anodised aluminium plug provide secure handling and durable connection. The device features backlighted display, time function, membrane buttons for easy operation and cleaning, and both a stand and a mounting magnet for flexible placement. The thermometer works well for conventional roasting and for low‑temperature cooking.
Insert the stainless steel probe into the thickest part of the meat, avoiding bone. Route the heat‑resistant cable out of the oven or grill and connect it to the display unit. Switch on the device, set the desired core temperature and, if required, program the oven upper and lower temperature limits. Monitor the readings on the illuminated display during cooking. When the target core temperature is reached or the oven temperature leaves the programmed range, the unit will sound an alarm.
For accurate results, place the probe tip in the centre of the cut and away from bone or fat. Allow the display to remain outside the heated area and keep the cable clear of direct flame. Clean the probe with warm soapy water after each use and store the unit with batteries removed if unused for long periods.
