Sound Level Meter TFA-Dostmann 31.2003.13
Sound Level Meter TFA‑Dostmann 31.2003.13 is a compact instrument for measuring equivalent A‑weighted sound pressure levels (dBA) in workplaces, leisure environments and other locations. The meter measures in the range 30–130 dB, provides fast and slow response settings, and complies with IEC 61672‑1 Class 2. The unit includes a backlit display for easier reading in low light and comes in a rugged black, silver and yellow housing; a windshield and tripod screw are supplied to improve measurement reliability outdoors and on stands.
The sound level meter delivers readings with a stated precision of ±1.4 dB and supports MAX/MIN/HOLD functions for capturing peaks and stable values. Its compact design and backlight make it suitable for field and indoor use, while the included windshield reduces wind noise and the tripod screw enables hands‑free mounting. Compliance with IEC 61672‑1 Class 2 ensures standardized measurement characteristics for general monitoring tasks.
Switch on the meter and select A‑weighting and the desired response time (Fast or Slow). Hold the instrument at arm’s length or mount it on a tripod using the provided screw; attach the windshield when measuring outdoors to reduce wind interference. Use MAX and MIN to capture extreme values and HOLD to freeze a reading on the display. Follow standard measurement distances and orientations for consistent results.
For reliable measurements, avoid placing the meter too close to reflective surfaces and keep a consistent distance from the sound source. Calibrate or check the instrument periodically against a reference calibrator if precise long‑term accuracy is required.
