Hole saw DRAUMET bi-metal crown drill 16 mm for metal and wood, 9032602
Hole saw DRAUMET BI-metal crown drill 16 mm is manufactured from HSS tool steel and M2 high carbon steel. It is designed for drilling through steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, aluminium, wood and plastics. The cutter has an M14 thread and a HEX mounting method, with a cut diameter of 16 mm and a drilling depth of 37 mm.
The bi-metal construction combines wear resistance of HSS tool steel with toughness of M2 high carbon steel to extend tool life and improve cutting performance. M14 thread and HEX mounting ensure secure attachment to compatible arbors and drill chucks. Compact 16 mm diameter and 37 mm depth allow precise through-holes and controlled material removal in a variety of materials.
Select a compatible arbor or chuck with M14/HEX connection and secure the crown drill. Mark the hole position on the workpiece and start drilling at low speed to establish the cut, then increase speed as appropriate for the material. Use steady pressure and keep the tool perpendicular to the surface. Clear chips regularly and cool the cutter when working on metals to maintain cutting efficiency.
For best results on metal, use cutting fluid and moderate drill speed; on wood and plastics, higher speeds are acceptable but avoid excessive heat buildup. Ensure the arbor and chuck are rated for the tool's thread and mounting before use.
