Hole saw DRAUMET BI-metal 68 mm - crown drill bit for metal and wood
Bi-metal hole saw DRAUMET BI-metal 68 mm is made from HSS tool steel and M2 high carbon steel. It is designed for drilling clean holes in steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, aluminium, wood and plastics. The tool features an M14 thread and HEX mounting method for secure attachment. Hole saw diameter is 68 mm with a cutting depth of 34 mm.
The bi-metal construction combines HSS cutting edges with a tougher steel body for improved wear resistance and longer life compared with simple carbon steel saws. The M14 thread and HEX mounting ensure stable fixation on compatible arbors and drill drivers. The 68 mm diameter and 34 mm depth provide a large-diameter hole capability while remaining suitable for general workshop and on-site use.
Mount the hole saw securely on a compatible arbor or directly to a drill with M14/HEX mounting. Mark the centre of the hole and start drilling at low speed to create a pilot indentation, then increase speed and apply steady, even pressure. Use cutting fluid when drilling metals to reduce heat and prolong tool life. After drilling, retract the saw carefully and clear chips from the teeth before the next cut.
For best results when cutting metals, use appropriate coolant or cutting oil, maintain moderate drill speed, and avoid excessive side pressure. Inspect the saw teeth before use and replace the tool if excessive wear or damage is observed.
