Hole saw DRAUMET 70 mm bi-metal, model 9032770
Hole saw DRAUMET bi-metal 70 mm (model 9032770) is made of HSS tool steel and M2 high carbon steel. It is designed for cutting holes in steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, aluminium, wood and plastic. The saw has an M14 thread and a HEX mounting system, with a diameter of 70 mm and a cutting depth of 34 mm.
The bi-metal construction combines toughness and wear resistance for longer lifetime compared with standard carbon saws. HSS cutting edges maintain sharpness at higher temperatures while the M2 high carbon body provides strength for demanding drilling tasks. The HEX mounting ensures secure attachment to compatible arbors and reduces slippage during use.
Mark the centre of the hole and secure the workpiece. Attach the hole saw to a compatible arbor with M14 thread and HEX connection, then mount to a drill or angle grinder rated for the saw. Start drilling at low speed to establish the cut, then increase speed as appropriate for the material. Apply steady feed pressure and avoid excessive side load. Withdraw the saw periodically to clear chips and prevent overheating.
For best results when cutting metals, use cutting lubricant and moderate speed to extend tool life. When cutting wood or plastic, higher speeds are acceptable but ensure the workpiece is firmly clamped. Inspect arbor compatibility before use and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
