Tabletop router DrayTek Vigor 2866Vac Dual-band Wi-Fi 5
The Vigor 2866Vac is a G.fast, VDSL2/ADSL2+ and Ethernet WAN router with integrated G.fast and VDSL modem and an Ethernet WAN port for cable or FTTP connections. It supports high-throughput Load Balancing and Failover for multi-WAN setups, hardware-accelerated WAN throughput up to 950 Mbps per WAN, AC1300 dual-band 802.11ac wireless with MU-MIMO, an integrated VoIP SIP ATA for two analogue handsets, and up to six Gigabit LAN ports (5 fixed + 1 flexible LAN/WAN). The router includes extensive routing, firewall, content filtering, QoS, VLANs and IPv4/IPv6 support, plus central management via VigorACS and optional DrayDDNS with automated Let's Encrypt certificates.
The Vigor 2866Vac provides versatile WAN options—G.fast, VDSL, Ethernet WAN—and supports Load Balancing and Failover to maintain connectivity. Built‑in VoIP ATA lets you connect two analogue phones without additional NAT/port forwarding. Hardware acceleration improves VPN and WAN throughput while preserving full feature functionality. Dual-band 802.11ac with MU‑MIMO supplies reliable wireless coverage and the ability to use nearby Wi‑Fi or mobile hotspots as backup Internet. Central management (VigorACS), DrayDDNS and automated certificate handling simplify administration for multi‑device deployments.
Connect the appropriate WAN interface: plug your G.fast or VDSL line into the integrated modem port or use the Ethernet WAN port for cable or FTTP. Attach wired devices to the Gigabit LAN ports or connect clients via the dual‑band wireless network. Configure Internet, VoIP and VPN settings through the router web interface; for VoIP, enter SIP account details and optionally set digit‑map rules to route calls via different providers. Use the wizard or web UI to enable Load Balancing/Failover, set up VLANs and apply QoS policies. For remote management, register the device with VigorACS and enable DrayDDNS and Let's Encrypt if required.
For reliable voice and VPN performance, enable IPsec hardware acceleration and assign Auto Voice VLAN for VoIP devices. Use the flexible LAN/WAN port to expand WAN options, and configure Hotspot portal and VLANs to separate guest and private networks. For multi‑site deployments, use LAN‑to‑LAN IPsec or DrayTek SSL VPN and manage devices centrally with VigorACS for streamlined updates and monitoring.
