The DrayTek VIGOR AP 912C is a dual-band 802.11ac Wave 2 access point delivering up to 1200 Mbit/s combined throughput (866 Mbps on 5 GHz + 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Designed for ceiling or wall installation, it supports Gigabit Ethernet, IEEE 802.3af PoE and can be managed locally via the web interface, centrally through a DrayTek router or cloud with VigorACS. The AP supports Mesh networking to link up to 8 VigorAP units, multi-SSID with VLAN tagging and enterprise-grade authentication options.

How to use

Install the VIGOR AP 912C on a ceiling or wall using the included mounting plate or T-bar clips for suspended ceilings and connect it to the network via a Gigabit Ethernet cable. Power the unit using an IEEE 802.3af PoE-enabled switch or injector, or alternatively with a compatible AC/DC adapter. Configure the AP with the DrayTek Wireless app by scanning the QR code or entering the default SSID and password, or use the Web UI. For centralised deployments, adopt APs into VigorACS or a DrayTek router's AP management to apply profiles and monitor status. To form a Mesh, designate a Mesh Root and add up to 7 Mesh Nodes; SSIDs and VLAN tags set on the Mesh Root propagate to Mesh Nodes.

Usage recommendations

Place ceiling-mounted APs centrally in the coverage area and use PoE where mains power is not available. For best mesh performance, provide wired Ethernet backhaul for at least some nodes when possible, enable Band Steering and Airtime Fairness, and use VLAN-tagged SSIDs to isolate guest networks from internal resources.
