Tripp Lite P568-30M-FBR is an active optical HDMI (AOC) cable that connects HDMI-enabled laptops, PCs, Blu-ray players, game consoles and set-top boxes to HDTVs, monitors, projectors or AV receivers. Using fiber optic conductors, the cable carries HDMI 2.0 signals up to 4K at 60 Hz with HDR and 4:4:4 chroma sampling across a 30 m run while eliminating typical copper limitations such as signal loss and EMI/RFI interference.
The AOC design provides long-reach HDMI transmission with minimal latency and without the signal degradation common to long copper runs. Slim, flexible fiber construction makes routing behind equipment and around corners easier than with thick copper cables. The cable supports HDR, 4:4:4 chroma, 3D and multi-channel audio formats and draws power from the connected device for plug-and-play operation. It is compatible with standard HDMI Type A ports and delivers up to 18 Gbit/s bandwidth for UHD content at 60 Hz.
The cable is directional and must be connected with the Source and Display ends correctly oriented; incorrect installation will prevent operation. It is an active optical cable designed for HDMI 2.0 (18 Gbit/s); environments requiring HDMI 2.1 features (e.g., 4K@120 Hz or variable refresh rate dependent on HDMI 2.1 bandwidth) are not supported by this product.
Verify the connector labels marked Source and Display before installation, then plug the Source-labeled end into the HDMI output device (laptop, Blu-ray player, console, etc.) and the Display-labeled end into the TV, projector or monitor. The cable draws power from the connected source so no external power supply is required. After connection, set the display and source devices to the desired resolution and HDR settings; ensure the source device output is configured for 4K@60 Hz and 4:4:4 if needed.
For reliable 4K@60 Hz HDR performance over long distances, route the slim fiber cable away from sharp bends and secure connectors at both ends. Confirm device output settings and HDR compatibility to achieve optimal picture and audio quality.
