Elegoo PLA filament, 1.75 mm diameter in black on a 1 kg spool, is designed for FDM/FFF 3D printers accepting 1.75 mm filament. This PLA variant (Rapid PLA+) combines the ease of printing typical for PLA with improved mechanical properties: higher tensile strength and greater elongation compared with standard PLA. The filament is wound uniformly on the spool and supplied vacuum-sealed to reduce moisture uptake and maintain consistent extrusion during printing.
Rapid PLA+ offers higher tensile strength and increased flexibility compared with conventional PLA, resulting in parts that are more impact-resistant and less brittle. The filament’s consistent 1.75 mm diameter (±0.02 mm) and precise winding reduce the risk of tangles and extruder clogs. Fast melting and even flow support good layer adhesion and dimensional stability, while vacuum packaging helps preserve filament quality during storage.
Load the 1.75 mm filament onto a compatible FDM/FFF 3D printer according to the printer manufacturer’s instructions. For initial setup, preheat the nozzle and bed to the manufacturer- or slicer-recommended temperatures for PLA-type materials, calibrate the extruder steps if necessary, and run a test extrusion to confirm smooth flow. Print with standard PLA settings first and adjust print temperature and speed to optimize layer bonding and surface finish for your specific printer and model.
Use a nozzle temperature and print speed suited to Rapid PLA+—start with typical PLA temperatures and slightly increase if needed for stronger layer adhesion. Keep filament stored sealed with desiccant when not in use and avoid prolonged exposure to humid environments. For parts that require extra strength or flexibility, tune infill percentage, wall thickness and print orientation rather than exceeding recommended nozzle temperatures.
