ELEGOO ABS filament in white is a 3D printing material made from acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS). It is intended for FDM/FFF printers that support ABS and is suitable for producing durable functional prototypes, mechanical parts, and enclosures. Printing with this material requires a higher hot-end temperature, a heated bed and good ventilation during use.
ABS offers high mechanical strength and resistance to impact and pressure, making printed parts robust for intensive use. The material has improved heat resistance compared with many alternatives, providing better dimensional stability at elevated temperatures. It also shows good resistance to moisture and low temperatures, allowing reliable performance in varied environments.
ABS is less suitable for users who need simple, low-temperature printing or who cannot provide a heated bed and adequate ventilation. It can emit fumes during printing, so it is not ideal for poorly ventilated indoor spaces or unventilated printers. For applications requiring high chemical resistance or optical transparency, other materials may be preferable.
Load the filament into an FDM/FFF printer configured for ABS printing. Set the hot-end temperature and heated bed temperature according to printer and filament manufacturer recommendations for ABS. Use a heated bed to reduce warping and consider an enclosure for improved layer adhesion and dimensional stability. Ensure adequate ventilation or extraction to manage printing fumes.
For best results, print ABS at manufacturer-recommended temperatures with a heated bed and, if possible, an enclosure. Use appropriate bed adhesion methods and allow parts to cool gradually to minimise warping. Ventilate the printing area to reduce exposure to fumes.
