Filament Elegoo ASA (blue) – Elegoo ASA 1.75 mm, 1 kg spool
Elegoo ASA filament in blue is a 1.75 mm, 1 kg spool designed for FDM/FFF 3D printers. It is formulated to provide enhanced UV and weather resistance compared with standard filaments, making it suitable for outdoor fixtures, enclosures, automotive parts and functional prototypes that require dimensional stability and durability under variable environmental conditions.
ASA offers strong resistance to UV radiation, moisture and many chemicals, and maintains its color and mechanical properties after prolonged sun exposure. With a 1.75 mm diameter it provides good printing precision and broad compatibility with most desktop FDM printers. The material also demonstrates improved thermal stability and impact resistance compared with PLA and PETG, which supports printing of functional, long-lasting parts.
ASA can be more prone to warping during printing than PLA and may require a heated bed, enclosure or other print environment control to achieve good dimensional accuracy on large flat parts. It is not intended for food-contact applications unless a suitable food-safe post-processing and certification pathway is used.
Load the 1.75 mm Elegoo ASA filament into an FDM/FFF printer configured for ASA. Use a heated bed and consider an enclosed print area to reduce warping; typical printing temperatures for ASA are higher than PLA and should follow printer and filament supplier recommendations. Monitor first layers for adhesion, adjust cooling to low or off for better layer bonding, and allow printed parts to cool gradually to reduce internal stresses.
For best results print with a heated bed and reduced part cooling, use an enclosure when possible, and store the spool dry to maintain filament quality. Follow your printer’s temperature guidelines for ASA and perform test prints to fine-tune settings before producing final parts.
