Snoot reflector with 6° and 12° grids Elinchrom E26429 for studio flashes
The Elinchrom E26429 snoot reflector with interchangeable 6° and 12° grids concentrates flash output into narrow, defined beams to give precise control over highlights and accents. Designed for use with compatible studio flashes, this lightweight snoot mounts easily and reduces stray light, allowing photographers to shape illumination for portrait, product and creative lighting applications. The two supplied grids enable very tight spot lighting as well as a slightly wider focused beam, making the unit versatile for controlled accent lighting and detail separation.
The snoot's interchangeable 6° and 12° grids provide two levels of beam control without changing modifiers. Its compact, lightweight construction is easy to attach and remove on compatible flash heads, and the reflector's internal design reduces spill light for cleaner, more repeatable results. The narrow beam options help to isolate subjects, emphasize texture and create dramatic highlights without affecting surrounding areas.
Fit the snoot onto a compatible studio flash head following the flash and modifier mounting guidelines. Choose either the 6° grid for a very narrow, focused beam or the 12° grid for a slightly wider spot, then secure the selected grid in place. Position the flash and snoot at the desired distance and angle to control the size and intensity of the highlight; moving the snoot closer produces a smaller, more intense spot while moving it away increases beam size and reduces intensity. Make small adjustments to aim the beam precisely at facial features, product details, or background elements.
Use meter readings or test exposures when switching between grid angles to maintain consistent exposure. Combine the snoot with diffusion or soft modifiers on additional lights rather than the snoot itself when soft, broad illumination is required. For best results, start with lower power settings and increase flash output gradually to refine the highlight effect without clipping or unwanted reflections.
