How to use

Assemble the Rotalux Deep Octabox by inserting the softbox rods into the central hub and stretching the black/silver cover into place, then attach the internal diffuser followed by the external translucent deflector if softer shadows are desired. Mount the completed softbox onto a compatible Elinchrom speed ring (sold separately) and secure with the locking mechanism before fitting onto a studio head or location strobe. Position the softbox relative to your subject to achieve the desired light falloff and catchlight characteristics; greater distance yields softer, more diffused light while closer placement increases specular highlights and contrast.

Usage recommendations

Use the internal diffuser and external translucent deflector together for the softest, most even light. For tighter control of spill and more directional light, add an optional grid or a hooded diffuser; when shooting on location, fold the softbox down into its carrying bag to protect fabrics and simplify transport.
