ELS Elektrotechnika TKI10-12 Insulated Wire End Ferrule 10 mm²
The ELS Elektrotechnika TKI10-12 insulated wire end ferrule is a professional-grade component designed for the secure termination of 10 mm² stranded copper conductors. By encasing the individual strands of a wire, this ferrule prevents fraying and ensures a uniform, reliable electrical connection when inserted into terminal blocks, circuit breakers, or other electrical connectors. Its robust design provides long-term stability in both industrial and residential electrical systems.
The primary benefit of using this insulated ferrule is the significant improvement in connection safety and durability. The integrated insulation collar provides strain relief and prevents accidental short circuits by covering the transition point between the wire insulation and the conductor. Furthermore, the ferrule ensures that all strands of the wire are held together, which reduces contact resistance and prevents the loose strands that often lead to overheating or mechanical failure in screw-type terminals.
This ferrule is not suitable for solid core wires, as it is specifically engineered to bundle and protect stranded conductors. It should also not be used in environments where the temperature or chemical exposure exceeds the rating of the plastic insulation material.
To use the ferrule, first strip the insulation from the end of the wire to the appropriate length. Insert the exposed stranded conductor into the metal tube of the ferrule until the strands are fully contained. Use a professional crimping tool designed for wire end ferrules to compress the metal sleeve securely onto the wire. Once crimped, the wire is ready to be inserted into the terminal block and tightened.
Always ensure the power is disconnected before performing any electrical installation work. Use only calibrated crimping tools to achieve a gas-tight connection that prevents oxidation and ensures optimal conductivity over time.
